Friday Faves for May 4

1.  I’ve become very good friends with this SmartStick immersion blender by Cuisinart.  It’s very handy for anything from mixing salad dressing in it’s companion measuring cup to blending soup right in the pot.

2.  This yummy sandwich made of turkey, bacon, avocado and ranch on focaccia from Kneaders Bakery has been on my mind this week.  If all goes well, I’ll have one before the day is over.  (photo from kneadersbakery.com)

3.  This Nexxus Pro Mend leave-in treatment swears to bind and repair split ends, and I  like to believe that it works.  It smells so good that I want to pour it into a  glass and drink it.  (photo from nexxus.com)

Happy Friday!

Friday Faves

Wow. This week flew by, and I have a feeling the upcoming weekend, packed with activities, will fly by faster.

Joy’s blog is one of my favorites to read, and her podcast that she does with Tracy cracks me up every time.  Now she has her own cookbook, and I can’t wait to bake my way through her recipes.

I ate exactly two of these coconut crème eggs from Dove, and then proceeded to give the bag away.  And it wasn’t because they were bad.  It was because they were too good.

My favorite dinner this week was from a small snippet. When I found the pin for these Spicy Thai Noodles on Pinterest and added it to my dinner board, I knew it would be a winner.  We added some sautéed shrimp and steamed snow peas, and really enjoyed it.  I wished I had taken a couple pictures and shared it here, but we ate it all.  But I’m sure we’ll make it again.

Have a happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

Today I added a blogroll with a list of a few of my favorite blogs.  It’s over on the right side of the screen.  When I’m looking for dinner ideas or maybe a tasty new cupcake, they never disappoint.

I’ve already shared this delicious soup from Pink Parsley and these fabulous hamburger rolls from Confections of a Foodie Bride.

Check ‘em out!

Happy Friday!

  1. When it isn’t summer and I don’t have buckets of basil growing on the back deck, this basil paste in a tube is fantastic for adding a little something to a variety of dishes.  I like to squirt it into canned tomato soup when I haven’t made this one from scratch, and it boosts the flavor in just about any pasta.  (photo from gourmetgarden.com)
  2. My sister got me to try her fave, and now it’s one of mine.  Applying it to your hair to make it smooth and shiny is just one of the many uses of coconut oil.  Google it.  (photo from amazon.com)
  3. I didn’t get around to watching SMASH when it first came out, but thanks to hulu.com, I’m getting into it.  I think if you enjoy watching musical theatre, you’d get into it, too.  (clip art from nbc.com)
  4. I’m lovin’ this lip balm from eos.  (photo from evolutionofsmooth.com)

What’s at the top of your favorites list?

Friday Faves

Happy Friday!1.  My favorite way to add some whole grain goodness to recipes without making them too heavy.  Whole wheat pastry flour has less protein and gluten than regular whole wheat flour, so you can still get a light texture in cookies and breads.  (photo from shopwell.com)

2.  Using this weekly conditioner from Neutrogena is my favorite way to put moisture back in my hair.  It’s great.  (photo from Amazon.com)

3.  Crystal Light came out with on-the-go packets that actually have caffeine, for those of us who would like a little more oomph than B vitamins.  I’ve tried peach-mango and citrus (basically lemonade), and I like them both.  (photo from caloriecount.about.com)
